In 1913, Arturo Concaris founded the FIMA (Fabbrica Italiana Motori Aviazione) in Turin (Torino), a large mechanical workshop devoted since 1916 to repair the propeller and Rhone & Gnome Hispano-Suiza, and the production of spare parts.
After the war, Concaris decided to devote himself to the automobile sector, founding in 1919 the FAST (Fabbrica Automobilia Sport Torino).
The first was the creation of Concaris "Type A", a sports car equipped with a 4-cylinder engine and 2991 cc, with valves in the head, three marches forward, crank and piston aluminum, and 80 hp power at 4500 rpm.
The body (for 2 or 3 passengers) had a very distinctive radiator. Participation in sports events culminated with discrete results.
In 1920, the Parma-Poggio of Terceto, Caberto Conelli and Eugenio Beria of Argentina, were classified at the wheel of a FAST in the first and second place respectively in their category.
In 1922, the factory was going through difficult economic times and in 1923 Concaris was forced to transfer her to engineer Alberto Orasi. From that moment on and despite the sporting spirit brand, the Company Orasi directed towards the car of tourism. Two models were ready right away, called "Due Type T" and "Due Type S," not too different from the "Type A".
Gastone Gastaldetti was first with an absolute "Due Type S" in the race to 1924 Biella-Oropa. That same year, all cars registered in the FAST completed the Targa Florio race, but this did not contribute to increase sales, which led to FAST in 1925 to a serious crisis that forced the closure inevitable.
