The Casalini is an automobile and motorcycle manufacturer that is dedicated to the production of two small cars, the so-called Minivetture or Vetturette. Casalini, based in Piacenza, was founded in 1939 and more than 50 years working on production of light vehicles for carrying people and things.
Until the end of the sixties produced mopeds and motocarri, and, since 1971, has produced the "sulky" vehicle to transport people from engine capacity of less than 50cc and driving without a licence. Over the years many thousands of copies of this vehicle were produced.
Since 1994, under the transposition of Directive 92/61 EC by the Italian state, has started production of light quad-cycles called "Ydea." From December 2004 they produced "sulkycar", a modern light quadricycle for freight transport.
In addition to Casalini Inc., to competitively produce the "Ydea" and "sulkycar", two companies Mech Plant Inc. for the metal components and Target s.r.l. for plastic components, are used.
The Ydea has a very robust structure, consisting of a steel frame and a body glass resin layered by hand which provides a significant safety level. The visibility provided by large glass surfaces, 4 disc brakes, suspensions and good speeds limited to 45km/hr are other important elements of security both in terms of road holding and braking.
In addition to the Italian market, Casalini, Inc. exports, with success, its products in all markets of the European Union.
